Asking the right questions

Written by  Katrina Beckett

After an amazing weekend at the Queensland Brides Wedding Expo, it became clear to us at LASH ME that ladies still have a LOT of unanswered questions about eyelash extensions, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to put together a list of the most commonly asked questions from the weekend...

1. Do we apply the extensions ourselves?

Definitely not, not even our most talented technicians can apply their own lashes, we maticulously apply your lashes strand by strand with a medical grade adhesive in the comfort of our beauty salons.

2.  Does it hurt?

It takes approx an hour to apply a full set of extensions and is such a relaxing experience that a lot of our clients drift off to sleep, you should not experience any pain at all.  If the glue being used to apply your extensions is not of the highest, professional quality, you can experience an uncomfortable stinging sensation.  LASH ME use the highest quality adhesives available and ensure that it's completely dry before you open your eyes to avoid irrittion.

3. What are the lashes made from?

We specialise in MINK FUR eyelash extensions (not to be confused with the faux mink being peddled as 'mink' by some salons).  Our mink fur fibres are ethically brushed from the coat of siberian minks during their biannual shedding and additional fibres are shaved from their tails.  The fibres are then hygenically treated, dyed and permed to turn them into the most lightweight, safest fibre to use on your delicate eye area

4. How long do they last?

Our lashes last 4-6 weeks, however when the addiction kicks in we suggest infilling your gorgeous set of lashes every 3-4 weeks to maintain the fullness.

5. Don't they damage your natural lashes!?!

Traditional lash extensions (acrylic, silk, faux mink) certainly have an impact on the quality of your natural lashes, however the lightweight nature of mink fur ensures there is no adverse effect on your natural lashes, even with continued use.

6. Can I still wear mascara?

Short answer is, you shouldn't have to, but if you do want to wear mascara for that special occassion, we suggest you simply coat the tips and then remove the mascara with an oil free make up remover to ensure minimal damage to your extensions.

We use a mink fur fibre, as mentioned above, it is really important to think of your lash health when booking in your extensions, so if you can't get in to one of our LASH ME salons to experience the best lashes in Brisbane, make sure you ask the following questions:

1. Do you have a dedicated eyelash extension specialist on your staff?
2. How long has she/he been doing eyelash extensions?
3. Does your glue contain phemaldehyde?  (you want to hear  definite 'no' to this question)
4. Do you stock lashes in a range of sizes so I can choose the look I'm after?
5. What type of lashes do you use?
6. (if the response to 5 is mink) do you use genuine mink fur or faux mink (which is essentially acrylic fashioned to look like mink fur)?
7. If i have a reaction to my lashes, do you have the products available to remove my lashes?

Once you've found a good eyelash technician, you'll know, because you will LOVE your lashes, free from any irritation and most importantly you will be complemented on your gorgeous long eyelashes, not asked where you get your extensions applied...

lashing you with regards

Hello. I see that you don't update your blog too often. I
know that writing content is boring and time consuming. But did you know that
there is a tool that allows you to create new posts using existing content (from article directories or other
pages from your niche)? And it does it very well.
The new posts are high quality and pass the copyscape test.
Search in google and try: miftolo's tools
